FRONTCURVE From weather to power. Project overview — November 2026 WHAT WE ARE BUILDING Frontcurve is an independent AI startup developing a forecasting platform for electricity market applications, initially focused on Germany and the DE-LU day-ahead market. EXISTING FOUNDATION Our existing forecasting pipeline processes AI weather model forecast data, calibrates local temperature forecasts against observations, and publishes validated, versioned forecast artifacts using scheduled Google Cloud workflows. WHY AI IS CENTRAL The existing pipeline uses forecasts from established AI weather models and adds our own observation-based calibration and data-processing layer. We plan to train machine-learning models that connect weather and market fundamentals to electricity price distributions. This price modelling remains development work, with performance to be established through historical evaluation. PLANNED ELECTRICITY MARKET RESEARCH We intend to connect weather scenarios to renewable generation and electricity demand, then combine these signals with market fundamentals to develop electricity price scenarios. Wind and solar modelling, market-data integration, and the electricity price model are development work rather than established product capabilities. WHY THIS MATTERS Weather influences wind and solar generation and temperature-sensitive demand. Forecast uncertainty can therefore be relevant to electricity market analysis. Weather is one input: fuel costs, plant availability, cross-border flows, and other market conditions also influence prices. POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS AND BUSINESS MODEL We plan to explore a subscription research dashboard and API for power market analysts, renewable energy teams, and energy procurement teams. Customer needs, pilot scope, and pricing remain to be validated. NEXT MILESTONES 1. Align weather inputs with historical German market data. 2. Build and evaluate generation, demand, and price modelling baselines. 3. Train and evaluate machine-learning models on unseen historical periods using information available at the original forecast time. 4. Develop a focused pilot with prospective users. CURRENT STATUS The weather pipeline is operational. The electricity price model is in development. No electricity forecasting accuracy, commercial customer base, or investment funding is claimed.
